Developer Interview!
Q: What was the biggest challenge with making Cuban Missile Crisis 2?
A: The biggest challenge when making CMC2 was actually giving a fuck and learning the engine, especially for elaborate scripted sequences.
Q: What were your biggest inspirations when coming up with ideas for your game?
A: Aside from CMC1 I think my biggest inspirations for the game are Undertale/Deltarune with a little Five Nights at Fuckboys, though the latter was likely unconscious, like it planting the idea in my head of a funny rpgmaker game being a cool thing to do. Another source of inspiration was the "Repainted" subgenre, just like the complete mess of different characters and series interacting without much rhyme or reason but it just works.
Q: What would you add if you had more time?
A: If I had more time I would've liked to add more idiotproofing features to ensure people play the way I intended. I also originally wanted a certain gimmicky battle to commit more to the bit but didn't have the time to figure out how to execute it, and I'm not even sure if what I wanted to do is even possible in VXACE..
