i really wanna get a crt sometime in the future but im not sure where to start, any advice/recommendations welcome!

My unironic advice is try to get one for free! You do not need a perfect CRT, just one that works. They are mostly invincible, so if you ever see one abandoned on the corner or in an alley, it's probably good enough. Asking family members and acquaintances is a good start, since people really do still have them around and need to get rid of them.

...But before you use it, regardless of where you get it from: put it in a garbage back, spray cockroach killer into it, seal the bag and leave it in the sun for a couple of days. You don't want insects in your house.

I would make a habit to check every day on Facebook marketplace, but don't go for the first cheap one you see. Whenever I get a CRT from facebook I always bring something to hook up to it and test it first. They can get really messed upĀ
